Nushu was a language used exclusively by women in China, which has fallen out of use since WWII. The language served as a means of private communication in a heavily patriarchal society where women were denied formal education and had limited rights. While men used the formal Chinese script, women created Nüshu to express their emotions, share their personal experiences, and maintain social bonds

The Gulabi Gang is a women's vigilante group founded in 2006 by Sampat Pal Devi in Uttar Pradesh, India. The group was formed to combat gender-based violence, such as domestic abuse and dowry harassment, particularly in rural areas where law enforcement is often ineffective. Members of the group are known for wearing pink sarees and carrying sticks, which they use for self-defense. The Gulabi Gang directly intervenes in cases of abuse, often using physical confrontation to protect women.
